We would first like to thank all the community members that attended this year's annual meeting.
All proposed changes to the River Commons restrictions passed. We are now working to get the updated restrictions on file with the county recorder. Once that is complete an updated copy will be uploaded to the website. We are excited to be able to welcome our new area representatives to the board! We are working on updating all contact information for the board's area representatives and officers. If you have any questions or suggestions for the board you can always utilize our email [email protected], the contact page on our website, or reach out to our board president Rob Rhodes directly at [email protected] or 815-585-2224. As a reminder this year's dues of $50 are due no later than May 31st. Unfortunately, at this time we do not have the ability to collect this year's dues online. The next board meeting is scheduled for May 10th at 6:30pm at the German Township Branch Library. Here is the holiday information you have all been waiting for! The 2022 Christmas lights competition is not just about lights this year! We want to see your most festive holiday decor whether that be your outdoor Christmas lights, your indoor Christmas tree, or your indoor/ outdoor cat in a Christmas sweater! We want to share your best holiday get up with the entire neighborhood. From now until December 14th we will be accepting photos to [email protected] of your holiday decor.
On the 14th all the pictures will be shared here for everyone to like and comment on. The photos with the top reactions will win some of the great prizes we have that have been donated by local Michiana small businesses! The fun won’t stop there though. If you submit a picture you will be entered to win a prize, and we will also be doing a whole neighborhood drawing so that everyone has a chance to win no matter what! If you want a chance to start of the new year right with a house cleaning, some completely customizable swag, or in a positive state of mind get your picture submitted! Is your neighbor not in the group? Put on your best Christmas sweater go over and take your picture with them and encourage them to join the group or check out our website! If you are a small business owner and would like to add to our prizes please email us and let us know. We will be sure you are recognized when the winners are announced. We can’t wait to see your pictures! It has been brought to our attention that a person or company has been dumping yard waste (clippings, leaves, sticks, etc.) into the entrance of Clay Park from South Shoreham Drive. Clay Park officials cannot promise to keep this path clear for our residents and will petition to close our entrance to our hiking paths if the yard waste dumping continues. Please do not do this and please inform your landscapers that this practice is prohibited.
The annual River Commons neighborhood garage sale will be Friday, June 25th and Saturday June 26. The more households that participate, the better! We will try to advertise the neighborhood sale far and wide. Feel free to save this flyer image and share with your thrifty friends, family, and coworkers.
If you'd like to participate and have your sale listed on our neighborhood map then contact Maryann Kincaid at [email protected] or text/call 219-669-9702.
